Our application process

Our goal is deliver a straightforward and simple application experience for every customer, every time. Here is an overview of the application process with VitalityLife.

Step 1 – Getting an online quote

Not everyone completes an online quote before talking to a VitalityLife Adviser. However, if you’d like to get a quick outline of the monthly premium you may pay for Life Cover (with optional Serious Illness Cover) it only takes a few minutes.

Your online quote will include:

  • The monthly protection premium for the level of cover selected
  • An indication if you qualify for Vitality Optimiser, and if you do, the upfront discount you will enjoy if you buy insurance with VitalityLife
  • An overview of all the discounts, rewards and savings that you can enjoy the day you open your policy

A copy of your online quote will be emailed to the address you provide.

Step 2 – Reviewing your individual circumstances and needs

Your dedicated VitalityLife Adviser has access to a range of tools and calculators that help us to review your individual circumstances. Your personalised review is part of our quality advice process that ensures you can be confident that what is recommended will suit you now and in the future.

Step 3 – Selecting the right VitalityLife products

Your VitalityLife Adviser will advise and make a recommendation for you only after assessing your needs. If you do not require a full review, please ensure you discuss this with the adviser.

The products that may be selected from the VitalityLife product suite include:

  • Term Assurance (Life Cover)
  • Whole of Life (Life Cover)
  • Serious Illness Assurance (Serious Illness Cover)
  • Income Protection Assurance(Income Protection Cover)
  • Business Protection (if applicable)
  • Plus our great range of additional covers and options, such as LifestyleCare Cover
Step 4 – Getting a detailed quote and submitting an application

Before proceeding with an application your VitalityLife Adviser will complete a new quote – even if you’ve already completed an online quote. This will take only a few minutes, and will provide the exact monthly premium you will pay for your chosen insurance.

Once you’re happy with your quote (a copy will be provided to you by email), your adviser will submit your application. This can take a little bit of time. If you’re short on time, simply book a call back with your dedicated VitalityLife Adviser.

If you’re ready to proceed, the application will cover:

  • Your age, occupation, residency, height and weight and whether you are a smoker
  • Some lifestyle questions – such as alcohol consumption and recreational drug use
  • A range of questions about your current health and your family history
  • We’ll also collect your doctor’s details should we need to contact them
  • At the end we’ll collect your payment details and an authorisation to access your medical records should this be required

It’s important that the information you provide is accurate. We care about the detail – tell your adviser everything you know!

Step 5 – Obtaining further information (if required)

If further information is required, such as a medical, your VitalityLife Adviser will let you know what will happen next.

Should we need to obtain further details or if you are required to have a medical, we suggest arranging this as soon as possible to ensure your application is not further delayed.

Step 6 – Activating your policy and accessing discounts and rewards

If your application is accepted, your adviser will provide all the relevant information such as your plan policy and schedule and a copy of your application. All members receive a welcome call from our friendly customer service team to help you login to your Member Zone and access the many discounts, rewards and savings you can now enjoy. A welcome pack will also be sent in the post. This includes your membership number and how to access the Member Zone for the first time.

Our top tip - Secure 300 vitality points in about 15-minutes by completing the Online Health Review, mental wellbeing assessment and your non-smoker declaration (if applicable). These are available in the Member Zone – complete them the first time you log in to get your Vitality Status off to a flying start!
